About The Job:
We are looking for an experienced, efficiency-focused, results-driven, and team-oriented person to join us as a Sound, AV, and Controls Technician / Programmer.
The Sound, AV, and Controls Technician / Programmer is responsible installing, programming, servicing, and supporting advanced AV solutions for a variety of applications, including entertainment venues, commercial spaces, and integration projects, and providing training and technical support to customers. This role supports the project installation team while also assisting with the management, maintenance, setup, and integration of company technical systems, displays, and demonstrations related to sound, AV, and control systems.
General Tasks:
- Troubleshoot and repair sound, AV, and control systems.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for installed systems.
- Participate in, and occasionally oversee, inspections, warranty service, system commissioning, and other project, service, and site-specific work.
- Conduct training sessions for customers and team members on systems and equipment.
- Install, integrate, and program pro sound, AV, and control systems, including DSPs, servers, cabling, networks, control equipment and consoles, and other related components.
- Act as the main contact for service, repair, maintenance, and inspection requests.
- Organize and manage labor and team members for various tasks as required.
- Assist with the development of service procedures, documentation, drawings, and operations.
- Represent CueBlue professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, and partners.
- Travel locally, and occasionally regionally, to meet project partners, customers, and visit project sites.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of related experience in a similar position – OR – 4+ years of general experience with related entertainment, commercial, or similar non-residential system programming or technical service.
- Strong technical knowledge of sound, AV, DSP, and control systems such as Symetrix, Yamaha, Allen & Heath, Q-Sys, Atlona Velocity, Crestron, Extron, AMX, etc…
- Strong technical knowledge of audio systems, networking, and AV standards.
- Ability to interpret project documentation such as wiring diagrams, schematics, and other technical service related documents.
- Excellent technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in team settings.
- Clear, professional, and respectful communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and on construction sites.
- Physical ability to handle heavy equipment.
- A desire to keep learning and gaining relevant training and certifications.
- A valid drivers license / state ID and a clear driving record with no major incidents in the last year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Industry certifications (e.g., AVIXA, Dante, Q-Sys, Atlona, Crestron, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theater, Engineering, or other related field -or- 4+ years of related field-oriented technical, vocational, academic, or military training
- Advanced knowledge of sound, AV, video, projection, networks, rigging, and entertainment systems, controls, equipment, and industry standards.
- Strong math and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Personal interest in related fields like entertainment, architecture, or technical production.
- Conversational proficiency in English and Spanish.
Pay + Benefits:
- $55,000 – $65,000 ( pretax )
- Health, Dental, Vision ( 20% employee / 80% CueBlue contribution for all base plans )
