About The Job:

We are looking for an experienced, efficiency-focused, results-driven, and team-oriented person to join us as a Project Manager.
The lighting, rigging, and controls project manager is the key team leader and central point of contact for planning, organization, execution, and management of integration, installation, and service projects for lighting, rigging, and related controls systems. The position is responsible for managing the related project team members and overseeing the successful, efficient, and safe completion of assigned projects.

General Tasks:

  • Ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely, meeting all specifications, quality standards, schedules, and budgets.
  • Plan and manage project stages, serving as the key contact for project partners and vendors.
  • Organize, plan, and manage team members and labor requirements.
  • Coordinate, oversee, and lead installations, inspections, warranty services, system commissioning, and other project-specific work.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, shop drawings, and related files to meet specifications and objectives.
  • Identify and implement necessary adjustments to project timelines, purchasing, labor, and costs to ensure timely and budget-friendly completion.
  • Train and guide team members on industry best practices to maintain safety, efficiency, and quality standards.
  • Represent CueBlue professionally in all interactions with customers, team members, vendors, and partners.
  • Travel locally, and occasionally regionally, to meet project partners, customers, and visit project sites.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related experience in a similar position – OR – 10+ years of general experience with related entertainment, commercial, or similar non-residential project supervision and installation.
  • Ability to interpret and create project documentation such as wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proven leadership experience with strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth understanding of project budgets, reporting, and cost management.
  • Experience working on construction sites, large-scale entertainment events, or similar projects that require interfacing with supervisors, contractors, other trades / departments, clients, and other professional representatives.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to respectfully lead and direct team members.
  • A valid drivers license / state ID and a clear driving record with no major incidents in the last year.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Proficiency in software like AutoCAD, Revit, Vectorworks, Braceworks, or ConnectCAD.
  • A desire to keep learning and gaining relevant training and certifications.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as PMP, OSHA, AVIXA CTS, BICSI, ETCP.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Technical Theater, Engineering, or other related field -or- 4+ years of related field-oriented technical, vocational, academic, or military training.
  • Advanced knowledge of pro lighting, rigging, curtains, IT, and entertainment systems, controls, equipment, as well as related industry standards.
  • Experience with project/quote takeoff software (e.g., D-Tools, BlueBeam, QuoteWorks, etc.).
  • Strong math and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Personal interest in entertainment, theater, architecture, audio, production, or related fields.
  • Conversational proficiency in English and Spanish.

Pay + Benefits:

  • $60,000 – $75,000 ( pretax )
  • Health, Dental, Vision ( 20% employee / 80% CueBlue contribution for all base plans )
