About The Job:

We are looking for an experienced, efficiency-focused, results-driven, and team-oriented person to join us as a Lighting, Rigging, and Controls Project Associate.

The project associate supports the project manager and projects team with the planning, organization, execution, and management of integration, installation, and service projects. The position’s primary responsibility will be to develop, create, manage, and distribute project documentation and drawings, alongside various tasks as assigned to assist the project manager.

General Tasks:

  • Develop and maintain project documentation, shop drawings, and related files to meet project specifications and objectives.
  • Support the project manager in efficiently and safely completing projects to the required specifications, quality standards, schedules, budgets, and professional expectations.
  • Assist the project manager with communication and coordination as needed.
  • Help with organizing, planning, and managing team members and labor requirements.
  • Assist with coordinating, overseeing, and leading installations, inspections, warranty service, system commissioning, and other project-specific work.
  • Represent CueBlue professionally and courteously in all communications with customers, team members, vendors, and partners.
  • Travel locally, and occasionally regionally, to meet project partners, customers, and visit project sites.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of related experience in a similar position – OR – 4+ years of general experience with related entertainment, commercial, or similar non-residential project supervision and installation.
  • Ability to interpret and create project documentation such as wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with creating 2D shop and project drawings using Vectorworks or AutoCAD software.
  • Experience in project teams, communication, time-management, and problem solving.
  • Experience working on construction sites, large-scale entertainment events, or similar projects that require interfacing with supervisors, contractors, other trades / departments, clients, and other professional representatives.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to work positively and respectfully with team members and follow or give directions as needed.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • A desire to keep learning and gaining relevant training and certifications.
  • A valid drivers license / state ID and a clear driving record with no major incidents in the last year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Industry-related certifications (e.g., ETCP, AVIXA, BICSI, SPRAT, IRATA, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Technical Theater, Engineering, or other related field -or- 4+ years of related field-oriented technical, vocational, academic, or military training
  • Advanced knowledge of pro lighting, rigging, curtains, IT, and entertainment systems, controls, equipment, and related industry standards.
  • Experience with project/quote takeoff software (e.g., D-Tools, BlueBeam, QuoteWorks, etc.).
  • Strong math and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Personal interest in entertainment, theater, architecture, or related fields.
  • Conversational proficiency in English and Spanish.

Pay + Benefits:

  • $55,000 – $65,000 ( pretax )
  • Health, Dental, Vision ( 20% employee / 80% CueBlue contribution for all base plans )
