About The Job:
We are looking for an experienced, efficiency-focused, results-driven, and team-oriented person to join us as a Sound, AV, and Controls Estimator.
The sound, AV, and controls estimator is the key team member and central point of contact for estimation and takeoff documentation for integration, installation, and service projects. The position is responsible for discovering and developing estimation opportunities, and successfully estimating and acquiring projects
General Tasks:
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and requirements to develop comprehensive estimates for entertainment and commercial sound, AV, network, communications, and control systems.
- Collaborate with sales, design, and project management teams to align estimates with project goals.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Source and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
- Identify project risks, constraints, and opportunities for value engineering.
- Assist in developing project proposals, bid packages, and supporting documentation.
- Manage multiple estimates simultaneously, meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy.
- Stay up to date on industry standards, products, and trends to offer innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Represent CueBlue professionally when interacting with customers, team members, vendors, and partners.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of related experience in a similar position – OR – 2+ years of general experience with related entertainment, commercial, or similar system estimations or project integrations or designs.
- Ability to interpret and create project documentation such as wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of entertainment lighting, rigging, and control systems, including relevant equipment and technologies.A clear understanding of project budgets, budgeting, reporting, and cost management.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools, with strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, CAD, or other design software).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- A desire to keep learning and gaining relevant training and certifications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices related to rigging and equipment installation.
- Familiarity with entertainment venue design, installations, or production processes
- A desire to continue learning about the industry and gaining relevant training and certifications.
- A valid drivers license / state ID and a clear driving record with no major incidents in the last year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Related industry certifications (e.g., AVIXA, BICSI, Atlona, Creston, Extron, QSC, Dante, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theater, Engineering, or other related field -or- 4+ years of related field-oriented technical, vocational, academic, or military training
- Advanced knowledge of pro sound, AV, video, projection, networks, rigging, and entertainment systems, controls, equipment, and industry standards.
- Experience with project takeoff software (e.g., D-Tools, BlueBeam, QuoteWorks, etc.).
- Strong math and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Personal interest in related fields like entertainment, architecture, audio, or technical production.
- Conversational proficiency in English and Spanish.
Pay + Benefits:
- $50,000 – $60,000 ( pretax )
- Health, Dental, Vision ( 20% employee / 80% CueBlue contribution for all base plans )
